1) INFORMING CLINICS
Before being able to start arranging the transport of cells, clients needs to inform the sending and the receiving institution about their intention. Clients might be asked to provide related documentation/consents to agree with the transport. Signing a contract between Client and Shipping agengy BioCouriers follows.
2) RELATED DOCUMENTATION
Both institutions exchange documentation related to the cells to be transported, including blood test results. Once this exchange is complete, transport plan is set and the date for the cells to be shipped is scheduled.
3) CELLS READY TO BE SHIPPED
Once appropriate documentation is approved and shipping plan set, cells are prepared for transport in laboraty. To ensure maximum transport safety, only top-class devices from world-renowned manufacturers are used: liquid nitrogen containers, specially designed for safe shipping purposes.
4) SHIPPING CONTAINERS
Your reproductive cells are transported in specialised, validated cryogenic containers designed to maintain the required temperature range of −196 °C to −150 °C without electricity. Each container is equipped with a calibrated data logger that continuously records the temperature throughout the journey.
5) SAFETY MEASURES
Prior to each transport detailed control procedure takes place, revising the shipping container’s integrity and the functionality of the temperature measuring device to ensure maximum safety.
After careful preparation and inspection of all transport devices, the transport of cells to the destination clinic starts. The container is placed in an another protective container. Depending on the type of transport it is secured against unwanted movements and vibrations. Shipments within driving distance are transported by car, longer routes are the combination of car and air transport.
6) COURIER ASSIGNED
Your shipment remains in the care of our trained couriers throughout the transport, including any authorised handovers between couriers. During air travel, the cryogenic container is transported in the aircraft cabin, never as checked baggage or ordinary air cargo. We ensure that the shipment is never exposed to X-ray screening at any stage of transport, while the temperature inside the container is continuously recorded.
7) REPORT
Once the shipment has been delivered, your coordinator will confirm its arrival. The client and both clinics then receive the final transport documentation, including signed collection and delivery protocols, temperature records and photographic documentation.
